CLYDE GOODEN

Clyde Gooden, 77, of New Boston, Texas, died Friday, Feb. 10, 2017, in a local hospital. Mr. Gooden was born Sept. 21, 1939, in New Boston. He was a deacon and choir member of Antioch Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Wallis Gooden of New Boston; two sons and daughters-in-law, Derrick and Terri Gooden of Texarkana and Frederick and Tina Gooden of New Boston; two daughters and one son-in-law, Cassandra and Cleveland Foster of Texarkana and Conequa Gooden of New Boston; one brother, James Gooden of New Boston; one godson, Dewayne Stewart of Huntsville, Ala.; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Antioch Baptist Church, New Boston, with Monte' Young officiating. Burial will be in Antioch Prosperity Cemetery under direction of Haynes Mortuary.
