EDESSA HILL

Edessa Hill, 82, of Texarkana, Texas, died Sunday, Feb. 12, 2017, in a local hospital. Ms. Hill was born June 19, 1934, in DeKalb, Texas. She was a member of Clear Lake Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jessie Hill; and one daughter, Kathy Hill Lewis. Survivors include three sons and two daughters-in-law, Lawrence and Brenda Hill, Charles Hill and Kenneth and Sherri Hill of Texarkana; three sisters-in-law, Beatrice Whitaker, Myrtle Whitaker and Lavern Hill; one brother-in-law, Wesley Hill; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Closed casket services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Haynes Mortuary with the Rev. Paul Hill Sr. officiating. Burial will be in Chapelwood Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. today and 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Online registration is at haynesmortuary.com.
