WINFRED KIRKLAND

LINDEN, Texas—Winfred L. Kirkland, 92, of Linden died Sunday, Jan.15, 2017. Mr. Kirkland was born Nov. 15, 1924, in Linden. He was an Army veteran. He was preceded in death by his wife, Estelle M. Kirkland; one daughter, Carolyn Erwin; and two grandchildren, Terry Smith Jr. and Parker Cowen. Survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law, Gloria and Chris Smith of Keithville, La., and Debbie Crawford of Jacksonville, Texas; one son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Gloria Kirkland of Haughton, La.; one brother, D.R. Kirkland; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Reeder-Davis-Schindler Funeral Home with Brandon Booker and Charles Lawrence officiating. Burial will be in Corinth Cemetery.
