RAYMOND TIDWELL

DeKALB, Texas—Raymond Lionel Tidwell, 88, of DeKalb died Saturday, Jan. 14, 2017, in a Mount Pleasant, Texas hospital. Mr. Lionel was born March 11, 1928. He was a Soil Conservationist with the U.S. Geological Service, former member of Springhill Cemetery Association Board, a member of First United Methodist Church, DeKalb, and a World War II Navy veteran and Air Force Reserve veteran. Survivors include his wife, Mary Anne Tidwell of DeKalb; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Howard and Janet Tidwell and David Tidwell of DeKalb; three grandsons and one granddaughter-in-law, Paul and Brooke Tidwell, David Tidwell and Robert Tidwell; two great-grandchildren, Joslin Mae Tidwell and Charles Raymond Tidwell; and a number of other relatives. Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Springhill Cemetery, DeKalb. Burial will be under direction of Bates Family Funeral Home. Online registration is at batesfamilyfuneralhome.com.
