ATLANTA, Texas—Rogers R. Miller, 89, of Atlanta died Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2017, in a local nursing home. Mr. Miller was born Oct. 9, 1927, in St. Augustine, Texas. He was retired from International Paper and was a member of Church of Christ, Atlanta, where he served as an elder, missionary and sojourner. He was preceded in death by his wife, Angie Miller, and one stepson, Tony Green. Survivors include his wife, Faye Miller; two sons, Gary Miller of Phoenix and Randy Miller of Pensacola, Fla.; one daughter, Mary Brown of Queen City, Texas; one stepson, Butch Green of Coconut Creek, Fla.; one stepdaughter, pam Coats of Atlanta; one brother, Raymond Miller of Tyler, Texas; one sister, Emma Jean Covington of Springhill, La.; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Church of Christ, Atlanta with Jon McCormack and Tom Hooten officiating. Burial will be in Laws Chapel Cemetery under direction of Hanner Funeral Service. Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Heritage Hospice. Online registration is at hannerfuneralservice.com.
