ATLANTA, Texas—Cassie Vickers Smith, 94, of Atlanta died Sunday, Jan. 15, 2017, in Atlanta. Mrs. Smith was born Aug. 31, 1922, in Washington, Ark. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Mary Baptist Church, Bivins, Texas. Survivors include six sons, Darnell R. Smith of Abilene, Texas, Charles E. Smith of St. Paul, Minn., Joe H. Smith of Dallas, Eddie L. Smith and Charlie D. Cole of Atlanta and Franklin Cole Smith of Texarkana; three daughters, Lorine Linthicum and Maxine Lowery of Dallas and Marilyn J. Carmack of Atlanta; 25 grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Faith Community Church of Nazarene with the Rev. Gaylon Harrison officiating. Burial will be in Pinecrest Cemetery under direction of Coleman-Atlanta Funeral Home. The body may be viewed until 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.
