ANDREW ATKINS JR.

Andrew Atkins Jr., 71, of Texarkana died Wednesday, March 15, 2017, in a local hospital. Mr. Atkins was born Aug. 31, 1945, in Texarkana, Ark. He was retired from GE Railcar and Wal-Mart and a member of Greater Heights COGIC. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ennis Atkins. Survivors include one son, Larry Brown Jr. of Texarkana; one daughter, Barbara L. Adams of Texarkana; seven brothers, Willie Atkins of Little Rock and Rodger Atkins, Anthony Atkins, Kenneth Atkins, Tony Batts, Ronald Batts and James Batts of Texarkana; five sisters, Betty Green of Moreno, Calif., Rosie Tyous, Barbara Atkins and Wanda Willis of Texarkana and Janet Elder of Kingston, N.Y.; and a number of other relatives. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Greater Heights COGIC with Donald Vaughn officiating. Burial will be in Harrison Chapel Cemetery, Mandeville, Ark., under direction of Lyles Funeral Home.
