CLARA GOODWIN

Clara Josephine Goodwin, 86, of Texarkana, Texas, died Tuesday, March 21, 2017 in a local nursing home. Mrs. Goodwin was born Nov. 20, 1930, in Bowie County, Texas. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. She was preceded in death by her husband, Oval L. Goodwin; and one son, Richard Lee Goodwin. Survivors include three sons and two daughters-in-law, Rocky and Jeannie Goodwin of Hughes Springs, Texas, Mitchell Goodwin of Simms, Texas, and Ricky and Kim Goodwin of New Boston, Texas; three daughters and one son-in-law, Melba and Franklin Long of Texarkana, Patty Dodd of Redwater, Texas, and Peggy Goodwin of Ashdown, Ark.; 20 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; 17 great-great grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Chapelwood Funeral Home with the Rev. Aaron Crawford officiating. Burial will be in Old Union Cemetery, Simms.
