Norma Ware

Norma Jean Bailey Ware, 82, passed away on September 20, 2017 in Texarkana, Texas. Norma was born October 30, 1934 to her parents George Thomas Bailey and Elva O. Boren Bailey in Texarkana, Arkansas. She attended Texas High School and later graduated from the University of North Texas in Denton with a business degree. Norma married her husband, Lawrence, and worked as the bookkeeper for the families business, Ware Plumbing, for over 30 years. She was a very compassionate wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was an avid bridge player and a member of several bridge clubs. Norma had a love of being creative and was an excellent seamstress; she enjoyed spending time painting, crafting and gardening. She also loved travelling with Lawrence, her husband of 59 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Atlanta, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her brother, Robert Gail Bailey of Tulsa, Oklahoma and her three children, Gary Steven Ware and his wife Linda of Atlanta; Linda Dianne Ware Williams and her husband Jeff of Garland, Texas; Thomas Alan Ware and Doris Dyke of Texarkana, Texas. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Jeffrey Steven Ware and his wife Hannah of Anson, Texas; Kristie Ware of Avery, Texas; Haley Ware of Houston, Texas and Blaine Ware of Avery, Texas and many other close relatives and friends. Visitation will be Sunday, September 24, 2017 from 6 pm to 8 pm at Hanner Funeral Service. Funeral services will be 10:00 am, Monday, September 25, 2017 at First Baptist Church, Atlanta, under the direction of Hanner Funeral Service with Rev. Wes Mills, Rev. Dale Perkins of First Baptist Church, Atlanta, Rev. Mathew St. John and Rev. Jeffrey Ware of First Baptist Church, Anson, Texas. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Norma's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Way, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.
