DeKALB, Texas—Denzil Ray Kight Jr., 84, of DeKalb died Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2018, in a local nursing home. Mr. Kight was born Jan. 30, 1934, in Greggton, Texas. He was a gas plant operator with Sun Oil Co., Snyder, Texas, a member of Siloam Baptist Church, Simms, Texas, and a Texas National Guard veteran. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Dana Luann Boggs. Survivors include his wife, Janette Kight of DeKalb; one daughter and son-in-law, Sheree Denise and Paul Miller of Sweetwater, Texas; one son and daughter-in-law, Darren Keith and Jill Kight of Frisco, Texas; two stepdaughters and stepsons-in-law, Becky and Keith Sabo of Houston and Jan and Jerry Tittle of Redwater, Texas; two sisters, Linda May of DeKalb and Nancy and Chuck Sidock of Hagerstown, Md.; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Bates Family Funeral Home with the Revs. John Watts and James Ross officiating. Burial will be in Wards Creek Cemetery, Simms.
