De QUEEN, Ark.—Michael Dewayne Nevels, 64, of Elk City, Okla., died Thursday, Sept. 20, 2018, in an Oklahoma City, Okla., hospital. Mr. Nevels was born Dec. 26, 1953, in De Queen, Ark. He was a member of the Elks Lodge, Elk City, Oklahoma State University Posse Club, Oklahoma State University Alumni Association and First Baptist Church, Elk City. He was preceded in death by his wife, Deborah Kaye Friday Nevels. Survivors include two sons, Sam Nevels of Memphis, Tenn., and Michael "Mikey" Nevels of Carter, Okla.; five daughters, Sumer Dupree of Elk City, Tisha Thomas of Weatherford, Okla., Jackie Davidson of Monument, Colo., Tracy Goodson of Fairview, Okla., and Vickie Frantz of Oklahoma City; one brother, James Nevels of Hartshorne, Okla.; one sister, Theresa Maderer of Idabel, Okla.; 17 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a number of other relatives. Services were 11 a.m. Monday at First Baptist Church, Elk City, with Kyle Evans and Doc Ware officiating. Burial will be 11 a.m. today at Oddfellows Cemetery, De Queen, under the direction of Martin-Dugger Funeral Home, Elk City.
