Sam Anthony Marzula, Jr., 69, of Texarkana, AR, died Friday, September 21, 2018, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born February 27, 1949, in Monroe, LA. He graduated from West Monroe High School, and joined the United States Army, serving in Alaska during the Vietnam War. He retired from Keebler/Kellogg's after 27 years of service. Sam was an avid NASCAR fan and an enthusiastic sports fan. He loved putt putt golf with his grandson, Curtis, and thoroughly enjoyed Rock and Roll music and going to many concerts. He also loved watching and feeding birds in his back yard. He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Jo Martin. He is survived by his wife, Janis Marzula; two daughters, Candace Ann Brooks and Misty Tucker; one son, Chance Masters; four sisters, Debbie Marzula, Jody Pollard and husband, Tom, Wanda Crowder and husband, Russ, and Rhonda McMorris and husband, Mike; one brother, Jeff Marzula and wife, Dana; two grandchildren, Curtis Anthony George and Ryan Petersen. The family invites you to celebrate his life at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, September 29, 2018, at Texarkana Funeral Home, Texas Chapel, with Deacon David Fowler officiating, followed by visitation until 4:00 P.M. A continued celebration will follow at 4:00-6:00 P.M. at the Silver Star Smokehouse and Saloon, 5205 W. Park Blvd., Texarkana, TX. To respect to his wishes, Mr. Marzula will be cremated. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society, or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
