Vollie Porter Jr.

Vollie Oscar Porter, Jr. age 76 of Ashdown, went to be with the love of his life and the Lord on Sunday, September 23, 2018. Vollie was born on October 2, 1941 in Springhill, LA and was raised by his grandparents, W. H. and Ida Rankin. He was an honest man with a great sense of humor. He was a loving husband and a devoted father. Vollie was retired from Domtar and lived a happy and good life. Vollie is preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Melba Jean Porter. He leaves behind a son and daughter-in-law, Vollie Dewayne and Alana Porter; a daughter, Angela Porter, 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Vollie was a member of the Richmond Methodist Church and a Mason. Visitation will be Thursday, September 27, 2018 at Richmond Methodist Church from 6:00 8:00. Memorial services will be held Friday, September 28 at 10:00 A.M. at Richmond Methodist Church. Jim Cross will be officiating.
