DeKALB, Texas—Theo Dwight Owen, 89, of New Boston, Texas, died Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2019, in a Texarkana, Texas hospital. Mr. Owen was born Feb. 15, 1929, in Lubbock, Texas. He was a retired Chief of Production with Red River Army Depot, a member of NRA, New Boston Masonic Lodge No. 69, American Legion and First Baptist Church, New Boston, and a veteran. He was preceded in death by one son, Randle Keith Owen. Survivors include his wife, Mary Frances Owen of New Boston; one son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Floriene Owens of New Boston; one daughter and son-in-law, Vickie and Jack Newkirk of Leary, Texas; two brothers, Elliott Owen of Spring Branch, Texas, and Kenneth Owen of Nash, Texas; two sisters, Frances Ruth Reid of Oklahoma City and Patricia Minter of Simms, Texas; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Services will be 3 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church with Dr. Patrick Hunter and Dr. Ken Cox officiating. Burial will be in New Boston Cemetery under direction of Bates Family Funeral Home.
