DeKALB, Texas—Theo Dwight Owen, 89, of New Boston, Texas, died Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2019, in a Texarkana, Texas hospital. Mr. Owen was born Feb. 15, 1929, in Lubbock, Texas. He was a retired Chief of Production with Red River Army Depot, a member of NRA, New Boston Masonic Lodge No. 69, American Legion and First Baptist Church, New Boston, and a veteran. He was preceded in death by one son, Randle Keith Owen. Survivors include his wife, Mary Frances Owen of New Boston; one son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Floriene Owens of New Boston; one daughter and son-in-law, Vickie and Jack Newkirk of Leary, Texas; two brothers, Elliott Owen of Spring Branch, Texas, and Kenneth Owen of Nash, Texas; two sisters, Frances Ruth Reid of Oklahoma City and Patricia Minter of Simms, Texas; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Services will be 3 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church with Dr. Patrick Hunter and Dr. Ken Cox officiating. Burial will be in New Boston Cemetery under direction of Bates Family Funeral Home. Visitation will be 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the church. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 506 S. McCoy Blvd., New Boston, TX 75570, or a favorite charity.
