DeKALB, Texas—Philip Manuel Burkhalter, 38, of DeKalb died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2019, in Epping, N.D. Mr. Burkhalter was born April 10, 1980, in New Boston, Texas. He was a oil field foreman with the Roustabout Crew. He was preceded in death by his mother, Linda Lansdale Burkhalter. Survivors include his wife, Teresa Conover Burkhalter of DeKalb; two sons, Christian Burkhalter of New Boston and William Cook of Gilliam, La.; one daughter, Chloe Smith of DeKalb; his father and stepmother, Charles Bryan and Pat Burkhalter of New Boston; his grandmother, Lottie Burkhalter of Simms, Texas; two brothers, Jeffrey Ruyle of Grand Prairie, Texas, and Bobby Joe Anderson of Lewisville, Texas; his birth mother, Rebecca Hallmark of Grand Prairie, Texas; and a number of other relatives. Services will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Calvary Baptist Church, Simms, with the Rev. Paul Burkhalter officiating. Burial will be in Old Union Cemetery under direction of Bates Family Funeral Home.
