HOWARD WHITECOTTON
DeKALB, Texas—Howard Paul "Sonny" Whitecotton, 75, of DeKalb died Monday, Jan. 7, 2019, in a Dallas hospital.
Mr. Whitecotton was born Feb. 20, 1943, in Simms, Texas. He was a retired supervisor for Red River Army Depot, a member of New Boston Roundup Club and a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife, Kelly Whitecotton; four daughters, Cindy Slakey of Cooper, Texas, Melissa Durand of Montpelier, La., Autumn Rivera of Jacksonville, Texas, and Amber Skipper of DeKalb; one son, Donny Whitecotton of Dallas; four sisters, Doris Russell of Grand Prairie, Texas, Myra Reaves of DeKalb and Joyce May and Diane Rose of Garland, Texas; one brother, Donny Whitecotton of New Boston; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.
Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Wards Creek Missionary Baptist Church, Simms, with James Boyd Strain and Rusty Durand officiating. Burial will be in Wards Creek Cemetery.
Visitation will be 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Friday at the church.
