LINDEN, Texas—James Edward Works, 80, of Jefferson, Texas, died Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2019.
Mr. Works was born Jan. 29, 1938, in Mesquite, Texas. He was a Mason and a Baptist deacon. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Christie Louise Sarrett; and one son, Edward Paul Burnett.
Survivors include his wife, Lillian Jean Works of Jefferson; three daughters, Theresa Harper of Forney, Texas, Pamela Cranfill of Gun Barrell, Texas, and Carol Dunn of Forney, Texas; two brothers, Robbie Works of Longview, Texas, and Dewey Works of Carthage, Texas; four sisters, Judy Cato of Linden, Pat Pellam and Sally Woods of Tatum, Texas, and Phyllis Capps of Carthage, Texas; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.
No services are scheduled at this time. Arrangements are under direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home.
The body may be viewed 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and Saturday at the funeral home.
