JAY MATTHEWS

Jay James Matthews, 51 of Chesapeake, Va., died Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2018. Mr. Matthews was born Jan. 31, 1967, in El Cajon, Calif. He was employed in auto industry marketing and a Navy veteran. Survivors include four children, Kyeen Matthews, Carlee Matthews, Jayce Matthews and Trae Matthews; his parents, Gary and Linda Lee; four siblings, Gayle Hale, Kathy West, Gary Lee Junior and Katrina Pelkey; and a number of other relatives. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Hillcrest Cemetery with the Rev. Matt Graves officiating. Burial will be under direction of Texarkana Funeral Home, Texas.
