SYLVERINE GARNER

RICHMOND, Texas—Sylverine Hudson Garner, 70, of Atlanta, Texas, died Sunday, Jan. 6, 2019. Mrs. Garner was born April 8, 1948. She was retired from the Department of Health, former Election Judge for Cass County Precinct 4, former election poll worker, formerly employed with Day & Zimmermann, a member of Business and Professional Women Club and Mount Zion Baptist Church, Douglassville, Texas. She was preceded in death by one son, Gerrand O'Keith Garner. Survivors include three daughters, ShaRhonda Byrd, Latonia Garner and Niakesha Nelson; four sisters, Betty Allen of Dallas, Wilma Williams of Beaumont, Texas, Dorothy Ann Allen of Lynwood, Calif., and Leola Allen of Texarkana; two brothers, Charles George of Pittsburgh, Texas, and Charles Allen of Dallas; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a number of other relatives. Services will be noon Saturday at First Baptist Church, Atlanta, under direction of Rodney F. Byrd Funeral Directors. Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the church.
