VERNON KENDRICK

Vernon Kendrick, 91, of Texarkana, Texas, died Saturday, Jan. 5, 2019, in a local hospice. Mr. Kendrick was born Jan. 1, 1928, in Troup, Texas. He was a retired roofer. Survivors include his wife, Bettie Kendrick of Texarkana; five sons, Michael Dennis of Mansfield, Texas, Raymond Kendrick of Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., Tommie Kendrick of Wichita Fallas, Texas, and Bobbie Kendrick and Jeffery Kendrick of Texarkana; three daughters, Mary Castleberry of Pflugerville, Texas, and Sharon Stewart and Kristi Kendrick of Texarkana; one sister, Margie White of San Antonio; 21 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Mount Zion First Baptist Church with the Rev. Barbara Stoker officiating. Burial will be in Chapelwood Memorial Gardens Cemetery under direction of Haynes Mortuary. Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Online registration is at haynesmortuary.com.
