CLARKSVILLE, Texas—Travis Willard Cox, 80, of Purdon, Texas, died Monday, Jan. 14, 2019, at his home. Mr. Cox was born April 30, 1938, in Avery, Texas. He was formerly executive vice president of Oil City Iron Works, Corsicana, Texas, and a Baptist. Survivors include his wife, Annette Gipson Cox of Purdon; two daughters, Debbie Smith of Austin, Texas, and Cindy Penney of Corsicana; two stepsons, Brian Bass of Canton and Barry Bass ofWaxahachie, Texas; one sister, Sheri DeWitt ofParis, Texas; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Avery Cemetery with the Rev. James Evans officiating. Burial will be under direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.
