Mae Tidwell

MAGNOLIA, Ark.—Mae Girtha Tidwell, 78, of Magnolia died Monday, June 10, 2019, in a Camden, Ark., hospital. Mrs. Tidwell was born Dec. 6, 1940. She was a Sunday School teacher and Superintendent, treasurer, secretary and member of Cross Road COGIC and a former member of Pine Grove AME Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie B. Christopher; and four children. Survivors include three daughters, the Rev. Katrina Fleming, Brenda Faye McKinney and Malvette Christopher; two sons and daughters-in-law, Antonio and Amber Christopher and Derrick and Sharona Christopher; two sisters, Barbara Hardamon and Alean Morehead; one brother, Melvin Tidwell Jr.; 29 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Crossroads COGIC, Chidester, Ark., with Elder Lavern Hicks officiating. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Rosston, Ark., under direction of R.L.
