ASHDOWN, Ark.—Michael J. Carson, 73, of Ashdown died Monday, June 10, 2019. Mr. Carson was born Dec. 2, 1945, in Ashdown. He was retired from Domtar, a member of Gideons of Texarkana and Church On The Rock and an Army veteran. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Rebecca Michelle Carson. Survivors include his wife, Dianne Carson; two sons, Michael J. Carson of Abilene, Texas, and Renwick Carson of Jacksonville, Fla.; one daughter, Kristle Carson of Dallas; three stepsons, Johnny Rosser, Lewis Rosser and Charles Duke; four stepdaughters, Dorothy Yeager, Cecilia Jarvis, Lezlie Cusher and Taressia Crutchfield; four sisters, Minnie Fountaine of Alabama, Sonja Amoah-Forson of Washington, Marva Matlock of Texas and Cheryl Green of Arkansas; one brother, Greg Givans of Arkansas; 17 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Rhodes Cemetery with Sonja Amoah-Forson officiating. Burial will be under direction of Madden Funeral Home. Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
