FRANCES SPEARS

CLARKSVILLE, Texas—Frances "Fran" Spears, 92, of Avery, Texas, died Friday, March 15, 2019, in a Texarkana hospice. Mrs. Spears was born March 14, 1927, in Deport, Texas. She was retired from Lone Star Army Ammunition Plant and a member of Order of the Eastern Star and Avery First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Spears. Survivors include three sons, Ed Stephenson and Gerald Stephenson of Avery, Texas, and Dean Stephenson of Dallas; one daughter, Pam Vega of Rockwall, Texas; one sister, Lou Coleman of Quitman, Texas; three brothers, Mahlon Allen of Caddo Mills, Texas, Raymond Allen of Powderly, Texas, and Byron Allen of Texarkana; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Services will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Avery First Baptist Church with Paul Burkhalter and Harold Churchill officiating. Burial will be in Avery Cemetery under direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. Visitation will be 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the church.
