De QUEEN, Ark.—Abb Thomas Short, 80, of De Queen died Sunday, May 12, 2019, in De Queen. Mr. Short was born Dec. 16, 1938, in Soper, Okla. He was a retired crane operator for Weyer-haeuser. He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathryn Hall Short; and one son, Tommy R. Short. Survivors include one son, Jerry Short of Jacksonville, Fla.; one daughter and son-in-law, Sherri Short and Danny Edge of Dierks, Ark.; one sister, Ruth Alsabrook of Horatio, Ark.; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Kermit and Rexene Short of Oregon, Nick and Joyce Short of Gillham, Ark., and Kenneth and Florene Short of De Queen; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Redmen Cemetery with Bobby Neal officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.
