JOBE DILLARD SR.

Jobe Dillard Sr., 92, of Texarkana, Ark., died Monday, May 13, 2019, in a local hospital. Mr. Dillard was born Feb. 14, 1927, in Texarkana. He was a laborer, an Arkansas election official, a Little League baseball coach, a Mason, a notary public, an Arkansas Constable and a deacon and member of Park Avenue Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by one son, Jobe Dillard Jr.; and one daughter, Mable White. Survivors include his wife, Secession "Hazel" Dillard; two sons, Claude Dillard of Texarkana and Phillip Dillard of Atlanta, Texas; four daughters, Gwendolyn Turner, Sandra Patterson and Carolyn Dillard of Texarkana and Beverly Williams of Arlingont, Texas; 22 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Park Avenue Baptist Church with the Revs. Reco Boyd and Malvin Patterson officiating. Burial will be in Chapelwood Memorial Gardens Cemetery under direction of Lyles Funeral Home. Visitation will be 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
