Joe Davis Johnston

DeKALB, Texas—Joe Davis Johnston, 58, of New Boston, Texas, died Sunday, May 19, 2019, at his home. Mr. Johnston was born Dec. 6, 1960, in Texarkana, Texas. He was a Baptist. He was preceded in death by one grandchild, Ethan Johnston. Survivors include his wife, Stacey Johnston; two sons, Aaron Johnston and Michael Long; one daughter, Jennifer McDaniel; his father, Joe C. Johnston, one sister and two brothers-in-law, Camille and Scott McCool and Chris Whitehead; his mother-in-law, Wanda Whitehead; five grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Services will be 10 a.m. today at Bates Family Funeral Home with James Boyd Strain officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. today at the funeral home.
