Mildred Allen Proctor, age 101, went to be with the Lord Thursday, November 7, 2019 in a nursing facility in Dallas. Mildred was born October 19, 1918 in Mt. Vernon, Texas to Mose and Cora Allen. She grew up in Liberty Grove, Texas where she played basketball on the school team and met the love of her life, Gene Proctor. They married, moved to Texarkana, raised two boys, and began a life that took them all across the country. They eventually retired and moved to Atlanta, Texas. They enjoyed living on the old homestead and loved to garden, golf, hunt, fish and travel. She was dear to all she met and if you could put a label on love, it would be the life of Mildred and Gene. Mildred is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Eugene Fred Proctor; her brothers, Clarence Henry Allen,Sr and Melvin Allen and sisters; Bessie Partain and Erma Steed. She is survived by two sons, Larry Proctor and wife Debbie of Panama City Beach, Florida; Randy Proctor and wife Sharon of Dallas, Texas; grandchildren, Jody Proctor (Keri), Lori Blackwell (Robert), Britton Proctor (Selinda), Whitney Risch (Patrick); great grandchildren, Garrett Proctor, Josey Rae Proctor, Gavin Dear, Grant Dear, and Vera James Risch. Funeral services will be, 2:00 pm, Sunday, November 10, 2019 at Hanner Funeral Service in Atlanta, Texas with Tim Brown officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm, Sunday. Interment will be in Laws Chapel Cemetery, Atlanta, Texas. Guest registry is available at www.hannerfuneralservice.com.
