Burney Jones, Jr.

Burney Britton Jones, Jr., 89, of Texarkana, TX, died Monday, October 28, 2019, in a local hospice facility. He was born August 10, 1930, to Burney Britton Jones, Sr., and Myrtle Harris Jones. He was an avid banker, a member of Highland Park Baptist Church, and spent many years working with the Lions Club. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Mignon Jones; a daughter, Julie Freeman; and a granddaughter, Kylee Sullivan. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Britt and Debbie Jones of Austin, TX; grandchildren, Amanda Willis and husband, Clark of Texarkana, Summerlann Farias and husband, Isaac of Austin, and Ryan Jones and wife, Karina Ramirez of Austin; four great-grandchildren, Stella Willis, Mariah Jones, Ayvah Jones, and Lylah Jones. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, November 15, 2019, at Texarkana Funeral Home, Texas Chapel with the Rev. Wallace Edgar officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lions Club. Online registration is at www.texarkanafuneralhome.com.
