Hazel Lee Kern

(July 12, 1944 - November 13, 2019) Hazel Lee Brown Kern left her earthly body to be with the Lord on November 13, 2019. She was preceded in death by her parents, Pierce Brown and Silva Mae Hendrix Brown and by her infant daughter, Jeri Waynette Kern. Hazel was born on July 12, 1944. She spent most of her life in Fulton, Arkansas. She graduated from Yeager High School in 1963. She worked and retired as a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell in Hope, AR. She was a devoted mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend to many people throughout her life span. She had a unique wisdom and was always able to offer comfort to people in her path. She was a dialysis patient for almost 28 years and was one of the longest surviving dialysis patients in the state of Arkansas. Even when she was suffering greatly, she never lost her faith in God or her spirit for life. Left to cherish her memory are her son, Jeremy Len Kern, her daughter, Jennifer Lewayne Kern, both of Texarkana; sister, Dorthy Clardy of Centerpointe, AR; brother and sister-in-law, Earnest Sr. and Shirley Brown of Fulton, AR and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday at the Texarkana Funeral Home, Arkansas Chapel with Rev. Jessie Henry officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 6:00 to 7:30 P.M. Memorials can be made to Hospice of Texarkana, 2407 Galleria Oaks Drive, Texarkana, TX 75503.
