Weldon Nichols, age 85, of Tillatoba, Mississippi, went to be with the Lord, Saturday, September 14, 2019, at Panola Medical Center, in Batesville Mississippi. Weldon was born November 14, 1933, in Bloomburg, Texas, to Clyde and Betty Nichols. He was a member of the Church of Love in Texarkana, Arkansas, retired from Day and Zimmerman, and a marine veteran serving during the Korean War. Weldon loved playing his guitar and organ and making CD's for his family and friends. He also enjoyed wood working, making cedar chests and furniture, camping with family and friends in Arkansas, and had special partners in crime his granddaughter, Cameron and his dog, Sassy. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Bettie Nichols; brother, Jimmy Nichols; four sisters, Kathryn Lynn, Christine Winn, Bonita Surorak, and Ineva Lummus. He is survived by his wife Ruth Nichols of Tillatoba, Mississippi; two daughters, Donna Webb and husband David of Atlanta, Texas, Natalie Dotson and husband Donnie of Queen City, Texas; two sons, Weldon Nichols, Jr. and wife Patti of Genoa, Arkansas, Roger Nichols and wife Lisa of Atlanta, Texas; two step sons, Charles Storey and wife Stephanie of Tillatoba, Mississippi, Richard Storey and wife Rachelle of Senatobia, Mississippi; brother, J.W. Nichols and wife Helen of Queen City, Texas; sixteen grandchildren; and twenty seven, great grandchildren. Services will be 2:00 pm, Saturday, September 21, 2019, at Smyrna Baptist Church, under the direction of Hanner Funeral Service, with Bro. Marc Sillivan officiating. Visitation will be from 1 pm 2 pm, Saturday, September 21, 2019 at the church. Interment will be in Huffines Cemetery.
