Adam recently found an “old-school” f/2.8, 300mm manual focus lens hidden in our old darkroom. Evan and I both tried to hide our sarcastic glances when Adam took off to a baseball game with the pre-historic lens.
I don’t think any of us have really said this, but due to Adam’s success with said lens I think we have all started a silent battle to see who can get the best photo out of it.
Today was my second attempt to master the beast and after seven innings of American Legion baseball in 104 degree heat, I decided it was time to throw the towel in. So I left – extremely disappointed in my valiant effort to show the guys that I could maneuver the mammoth just as well as they could.
When I got back to the office and started going through the pictures I realized that most of them had missed the peak action or were out of focus.
And then this beauty showed up on my screen. Not exactly what I was going for and not what is going in the paper, but an amusing moment to be sure.
