We were digging through the Gazette’s photo archives beginning at about six years ago for a project, and as we went through we began to pull visually interesting photos from years past. This is part 1 of a 3-part series showcasing some of what we found from the archives.
Just read of an AP prize winning photo taken by ar Gazette @ 1951 at Union Station of a soldier Hoddie reaching out to his mom from the train and she reaching for him. He was later killed in action in Korea. This info on ar. High alumni web site under memorials. The title of photo was “Crying Soldier” You don’t still have a copy of this by chance?
Send an email to photography@texarkanagazette.com and we will look into it.
