Biennial exhibition on display at Museum of the Red River

IDABEL, Okla.-The Museum of the Red River will host the Seven-States Biennial Exhibition for another month.

The exhibit features 44 paintings, sculptures, prints and other sorts of art from 23 artists. Artists from Oklahoma and neighboring states were invited to submit work. First place went to William Stoehr for "Thea 4," a acrylic-on-canvas portrait. A stoneware piece titled "Three Soldiers Repurposed" landed artist Mayumi Makino Kiefer second place. Dan R. Hammett won third place for "Blue Green Overhead Handle Tripodal Flagon," another stoneware piece.

William Cannings, associate professor of art at Texas Tech University, served as the judge this year. The exhibit, which opened in lat January, is up through March 25.
