NASH, Texas -- Trayce Bradford pitched her candidacy for Texas lieutenant governor before Bowie County Patriots. Bradford framed her argument on the idea that American and Texas values like liberty, family and such are under full assault by monied interests and that Texas policy makers are, as such, in many cases, compromised.

"Touching on the COVID situation, the mandates did not come out of nowhere," said Bradford.

"One would hope that in Texas, our legislature would be more sympathetic towards small businesses," she said. "In fact, they even toyed with legislation similar to what we now see in Australia, where people have been dragged out of their homes and put into quarantine against their will. Roaring objection got it taken out, but it should have never even made it that far."

She also discussed the transgender issue and mentioned Critical Race Theory, in that both are being used as assaults on the traditional family.

"Young children are being exposed to these theories and ideas at entirely inappropriate ages, in inappropriate ways," she said. "Not all schools are dealing with this, but there are in schools in places ... where the efforts of transgender activists are bottom line pushing for biological males to enter private spaces formerly exclusive to girls. In addition, they are pushing transition procedures and pushing them on younger and younger children, procedures that fundamentally, permanently alter them. There is no reversing them."

She lamented how reluctant Texas legislators are in taking on this issue directly.

"We come to Texas, testify, indicating we are willing to help," said Bradford. "We've gone office to office in the Texas legislature and very often, get told, 'too controversial, can't do anything.'"

Bradford cited her activism with the Eagle Forum and points out that Phyllis Schlafly, founder of that organization, predicted such things would happen.

Bradford cited the border issues, human trafficking, Texas property taxes and more, all culminating in forces arrayed against Texas culture, Texas families, Texas values and that, in her view, Texas politicians, in many cases are too afraid of confrontation or too beholden to monetary interests to fight back more effectively.
