Team arrival set for Thursday, events Friday

TEXARKANA, Ark. -- Southeastern Oklahoma State's and Emporia State's football teams are expected to arrive Thursday for their three-day stay in Texarkana for the eighth annual Farmers Bank & Trust Live United Bowl.

On Friday the teams will participate in its second team community event as players visit Runnin' WJ Ranch, Texarkana Resource Center for the Disabled, PRIDE Academy and Opportunities, Inc. Thursday the teams will have a Harvest Texarkana Meal Packing.

Friday afternoon each team will have its final practice before the Live United Bowl, set for noon on Saturday, Dec. 4. As the home team, the Savage Storm (8-3) will practice at Arkansas High's Razorback Stadium -- the site for the bowl game. The Hornets (6-5) will practice at the Pleasant Grove indoor facility.

From 6-8 Friday is the Jeans, Boots and BBQ Banquet at the Texarkana Texas Convention Center. Tickets are $25 for the event and may be purchased at liveunitedbowl.com. After the Banquet will be the community pep rally, held at the Texas-side convention center, and the public is welcome to the pep rally.

Game tickets are $4 for students and $10 for adults, and tickets are on sale at any Farmers Bank & Trust location, any Mil-Way Federal Credit Union location, the Texarkana Chamber of Commerce, or the United Way of Greater Texarkana office or can be purchased online at liveunitedbowl.com. Student tickets are not available online.
