TEXARKANA, Texas -- Pizza Hut's Richmond Road franchise has been moved to Mall Drive next to Red Wing Shoes. The smaller space it now occupies is exactly why they moved there.
"The Richmond Road location just had a bit too much space," said Connor Stearns, on-duty manager. "The Pizza Hut business model has changed. We've gone from the dine-in experience and emphasize carry-out and drive-through -- what our customers seem to prefer now."
Pizza Hut was once known for the dine-in experience, but shifting preferences, some of which were driven by the stresses of the previous year, have changed things for some restaurants, Pizza Hut being one of them. Now, it is all about coming and getting the hot pizza, made to order.
"Our menu mostly has not changed," Stearns said. "Just how we get it to you."
(This Pizza Hut franchise is at 374 Mall Drive. Hours are Sunday through Thursday 10:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Friday and Saturday, 10:30 a.m. to midnight.)
