TEXARKANA, Texas -- For many, many months, the former West Gate Car Wash on Summerhill Road has been closed.
For years, it was one of the most popular car washes in town -- particularly on Wednesday, when they dished out deep discounts on their cleaning service.
In recent months, those driving by the location could see it was undergoing a transformation -- which is now complete.
Coupled with a change in ownership, a new, modernized and automated car wash business, FusionMax Car Wash & Lube, has arrived.
It offers a similar range of services offered by West Gate Car Wash. The washing services are provided mostly by a top-to-bottom rebuilt wash tunnel. The new one features more automation as compared to the previous one. As a customer begins their trip through, an attendant might tell them to expect more lights flashing.
"Going to see lots more colored lights that you might not expect," said Fernando Alemon, facilities supervisor. Monique Moulton is the general manager.
For the washing services, the prices range from a $10 basic wash to more pricey ones with more features.
"We also offer monthly pricing packages," he said.
Though the facilities are more highly automated than previous, attendants are on hand with various services. From prepping vehicles before they go through the tunnel with a hose-down and first application of soap, the facility continues to offer both detailing and lubrication services.
Customers can put in their orders for services two ways. They can visit the facility or they can go on Facebook and follow the prompts there.
