Softball wraps up regular season for Texas-side

TEXARKANA -- The softball regular season wraps up this week for the Texas-side schools, the baseball teams go one more week and the Arkansas teams have a third week before the postseason.

Texas High hosts Longview today and travels to Mount Pleasant Friday in baseball and softball, with the latter needing wins and help to clinch a playoff berth.

Headed for the 4A playoffs, Pleasant Grove's softball team completes its regular season at Paris today. The Hawks baseball team plays at Paris and hosts Liberty-Eylau on Friday for the Gazette's Game of the Week.

The Leopards and Hawks have split their previous two district meetings.

Liberty-Eylau's softball team finishes its year at Gilmer today, and the Leopard baseball team also plays at Gilmer before challenging PG Friday.

Arkansas High hosts Hot Springs today and plays at Sheridan Friday.

Texas A&M University-Texarkana's softball team plays a doubleheader at Louisiana Christian College today, hosts TAMU-San Antonio Friday for two games and host a Saturday twinbill against RRAC-leading Our Lady of the Lake University.

The Eagle baseball team hosts Central Baptist College for a doubleheader today and plays a 3-game set Friday and Saturday at the University of Houston-Victoria.
