EDITORIAL/Downtown Tradition: TLC reopens to eager crowd

It's been a long year for many in the local lunch crowd.

But now the wait is over.

In June of last year, TLC Burgers and Fries had to shut down because of damage from a fire. A lot of longtime patrons felt bad for the owners and employees. The restaurant has built up a loyal following over the past four decades.

The customers felt pretty sad about it for themselves as well. The burgers and fries -- with the unique Red River Sand spice mixture -- are something special. They could hardly wait until they got of taste of TLC once again.

And so on Monday TLC reopened to a crowd and long lines -- ample proof that if you give the people what they want, they'll beat a path to your door.

TLC has been a fixture in Downtown Texarkana for 40 years. We welcome them back and wish TLC success for another 40.
