TEXARKANA, Ark. -- Murder mystery enthusiasts may be able to get in on some year-end sleuthing when the Texarkana Museums System holds its last Murder Mystery event of this year.
Tickets, which are still available now through Tuesday for $45 a piece, $80 per couple and $40 per TMS member, will allow admission to a New Year's Eve 1955-style block party, which will take place from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 31, at the P.J. Ahern Home, 403 Laurel St.
Once guests have purchased tickets, a character will be randomly assigned to each party guest prior to the sleuthing fest. It's at this point that each guest will also receive a brief description of their character, along with a costume description that fits their character's description should they decide to dress the part.
Along with both a character and costume description, each guest will also receive a packet of information containing more details about their character, as well as a "mission" they may need to complete.
In case of any confusion along the way, TMS staff members will be available to help.
As the evening continues, a fictional crime may be committed. At which point, everyone is permitted to collect clues and "solve the crime," a task which will involve mingling with all other guests.
By evening's end, the"suspect" or "suspects" will be revealed and prizes will be awarded.
Throughout the entire evening, a catered dinner and drinks will be served.
