NASHVILLE, Ark. -- Nashville High School Cheerleaders traveled for the first time to Dallas, Texas, this past weekend to compete in the National Cheerleaders Association High School Nationals and placed first out of all teams.
Nashville finished the preliminary round tied for second place and went into finals looking for their first ever national championship. On the final day, they hit a flawless routine and were able to pull ahead of the preliminaries first place team to finish as champions.
There were 11 teams total in the Intermediate Small Varsity Game Performance Division. There were teams from all over the nation, including California, New Jersey and more.
"We are so excited and honored to receive this award," Cheerleading Coach Erin Askew said in a news release from the school. "The girls worked hard from day one and put everything into this cheer season. They have really showed that hard work and perseverance pay off in the end."
What they won: 2022 NCA Intermediate Small Varsity Game Performance and Judges Choice for Best Use of Stunts.
