SAN ANGELO, Texas -- Tom Morrissey of Texarkana will deliver a free one-hour lecture from 11 a.m., to noon, Saturday, Feb.26, at the San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts Museum.
The lecture is called "Extruded and Raku Firing Hands on Clay."
From 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. that day, he will do a Raku firing demonstration. (Registration required.)
Morrissey will then hold a four-hour workshop, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Feb. 27, on the same subject. (Registration required.)
Cost is $175, with discounts available for members, military and senior registrants.
Morrissey teaches visual arts at Texas A&M University-Texarkana.
He enlisted in the U.S. Army Warrant Officer Flight School program and served as a helicopter pilot in the Vietnam War, received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in ceramics from the University of Florida in 1976, as well as a Master of Fine Arts in ceramics and sculpture from Arizona State University in 1978.
His writings have been published in Ceramics Monthly in America.
