TEXARKANA, Texas -- There may be another Popeyes fried chicken restaurant coming to Texarkana soon.
On July 11, the City Council will vote on approving a site plan for a new Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen on Richmond Road.
Mashell Daniel, city director of inspections and code enforcement, said if the site plan is approved, the new restaurant will be at 2903 Richmond Road, in a former Pizza Hut location.
"It was briefed during a Council meeting this past Monday night for site plan approval," Daniel said.
According to the Council's meeting agenda, the 3,060-square-foot building has 56 parking spots. A drive-thru is on the building's south side, and an 8-foot by 4-foot monument style sign is in front of the building.
The request for site plan approval was made by Paige Hobbs with American Goods LLC (owners), and Greg Ryden with Ryden Architecture, according to the agenda.
The Gazette reached out to Popeyes' corporate offices for comment but received no response as of Thursday afternoon.
