Bulldogs blanked by Benton Tigers

TEXARKANA, Texas -- Friday night under the lights at George Dobson field started as a pitchers duel through four innings as Blake Jennings of the Texarkana Bulldogs and Kenner Lauterbach of the Benton Tigers went back and forth matching each other's scoreless innings.

The Tigers finally broke through and touched up Jennings for four runs in the fifth when Bryson Pierce tripled, driving in two runs, followed up by an RBI single from Josh Sanchez, as well as an RBI double from Cole Weir.

Hudson Brignac would collect an RBI single in the sixth inning off of Bulldog reliever Malcolm Brown to complete the scoring for the Tigers. Lauterbach picked up the win for the tigers, throwing five shutout innings, giving up just four hits and striking out two.

Jennings got tabbed with the loss for the Bulldogs. The Bulldogs were led at the plate by Dylan Garton, who had two singles on the night, and Alex Galvan, Jennings and Brown added a hit apiece.
