American Red Cross needs welcome team volunteers at the Texarkana office who can work 4 hour shifts at least one day each week greeting and directing visitors, answering the phone and assisting with filing. Arkansas Department of Health Hospice Program needs people to visit patients and families in the Texarkana area. Call Laura at 870-773-2108 ext 7 or 866-861-7453.

Arkansas Nursing and Rehabilitation Center needs mail deliverers and craft helpers, readers, letters writers and piano players. Call Deanna Prejean at 870-772-4427.

CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates), a non-profit organization, is in need of volunteers to help the abused and neglected children in an 8 county area in Texas and Arkansas. CASA volunteers speak up for a child in court, they are the voice that makes a difference in a child's life. Volunteers get to know the children and everyone who is involved with the child. Information sessions are at the office at 1201 Main, Texarkana, Tx. the first Tuesday and second Thursday of each month at 9:30 am and 5:30 pm. CHRISTUS St. Michael Health System needs volunteers who are interested in assisting in a healthcare environment at the Information Desk (main hospital), Gift Shop, Information Desk (Medical Office Building), Joint Replacement Center and for specific projects. Domestic Violence Prevention Inc. needs caring and empathetic individuals to work the hotline and at the Battered Women's Shelter, administrative office, Resale Shop and outreach offices. Two volunteers are also needed to provide childcare during group meetings 5:15 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. every other Tuesday at the shelter.; and one to two volunteers to serve as a check-in workers for the Tuesday night group meeting 5:15 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the main office.
