TEXARKANA, Texas -- Texas Mission of Mercy partnered with CHRISTUS hospital system last weekend at Texas High to provide dental care to those who came looking.
"We were able to do a lot per patient," TMM coordinator Mackenzie Keene said.
TMM tries to make it to the Texarkana region four times a year to provide services to those who can't easily afford dental care.
Between June 17 and 18, 375 patients were given dental care. There were also about 30 denture sets given to those who needed them.
CHRISTUS hospital system has hosted the clinic four times over the past several years. For last week's clinic, the hospital invested $50,000 toward the event.
TMM donated more than $1,477 on average to each patient in dental services, with the overall production total for the two day clinic being about $554,000.
