Police investigate late-night shooting in DeKalb

DeKALB, Texas -- Police are investigating a late-night shooting that left one person with life-threatening injuries.

Approximately 10:50 p.m. Saturday, officers were dispatched to a shooting in the 500 block of East Front Street. Through their initial investigation, officers learned that the alleged victim and the suspect had been in a physical fight before the shooting, according to an early police report.

The alleged victim was taken to an area hospital with serious injuries.

No other information on the alleged victim or the suspect was immediately available Sunday.

On Sunday afternoon, a spokesman for the department said more information would be released later.
