Teen’s DNA allegedly proves his mother was sexually assaulted by Texarkana man

TEXARKANA, Texas -- A teen's DNA allegedly supports his mother's claim that she was sexually assaulted by a man in Texarkana, Texas, in 2006.

Anthony Dewayne Camble Sr., 42, is accused of sexually assaulting a woman in May or June 2006 at an apartment on Allen Lane in Texarkana, Texas, when she was 15 and Camble was 26, according to a probable cause affidavit.

The woman made a report to Texarkana, Texas, police in 2020 that she went to Camble's apartment in 2006 to visit a relative who lived with Camble at the time. The relative was not home when Camble allegedly grabbed and assaulted the woman6.

The woman gave birth to a son in 2007.

Camble allegedly denied any sexual contact ever occurred between him and the alleged victim during an interview with police in July 2020. Camble reportedly gave a sample of his DNA voluntarily.

Camble's DNA sample, a sample of the alleged victim's DNA and a sample of the woman's 15-year-old son's DNA were submitted for testing December 2021 at the North Texas Center for Human Identification in Fort Worth. A report detailing the results of the DNA testing received by investigators this month allegedly show Camble is statistically more likely to be the father of the boy than more than 99.99 percent of the African American population.

"The observed genetic results are 16 billion times more likley under the scenario that Anthony Camble is the true biological father of (the boy) than if the father is an untested, unrelated, random man from the African American population," the affidavit states.

Camble was arrested Monday on a charge of sexual assault of a child. If convicted, he faces two to 20 years in prison.

Camble is being held in the Bowie County jail, with bail set at $100,000.
