TEXARKANA, Texas -- The seventh annual Cooper Tire Big Bass Fishing Tournament is scheduled for Saturday, May 14, at Yarborough Landing on Millwood Lake.
United Way Greater Texarkana CEO Mark Bledsoe said this event is one of the Ark-La-Tex area's largest bass tournaments, with cash prizes totaling $13,300.
Registration/entry fees are $80 per person, and official tournament hats are $20. Prize awards are also given out for 2 to 5 pound bass without going over; the prize amounts are $200, $300, $400 and $500, respectively.
In addition to the cash awards, there are close to $2,500 in raffle items that can be won.
The tournament is the largest fundraiser Cooper Tire holds annually for the United Way. Money raised goes into the campaign and helps fund over 30 different programs throughout a nine-county region.
Corporate COVID protocol prevented the tourney in 2020 and 2021.
